A Mac in Cambodia is often a household or office machine rather than a personal one, which changes how a trading setup should be arranged on it. Two options exist: install the desktop MetaTrader build for macOS, or open the browser platform, which leaves nothing behind on a computer other people also sit down at.

macOS: desktop MetaTrader or a browser tab

MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 both have macOS builds, so a Mac can run a full desktop terminal with local templates and saved chart layouts. That is the right choice when the Mac has a single user and a login of its own, because everything the terminal stores stays under that user account.

On a shared Mac the browser platform is usually the more sensible route. It opens from the Personal Area, holds no local files and closes with the tab. If the machine is shared, use a private browsing window and sign out at the end rather than leaving a session open in a tab that somebody else will find.

Local time is UTC+7, which places the European open in the mid-afternoon and the North American open late in the evening. A shared Mac is rarely free at the later end of that range, so many people use the desktop or browser session earlier and move to a phone afterwards. The account is the same either way.

Two ways to trade Exness on a Mac

On a Mac there are two options. The Exness Terminal runs in any browser (Safari or Chrome) with nothing to install. MetaTrader 5 also has a build that runs on macOS for advanced charting and automated trading.

Which to choose

The web terminal needs no download and starts in the browser; MetaTrader 5 suits traders who want the full desktop tools. Both connect to the same Exness account — see the MetaTrader 5 page.
